@callmore
okay
The thing that really disappoints me about the finals is one the AI voices and two the fact that the game is actually really high quality with the destruction physics and such but they couldn't put in the effort for actual voice actors

they basically said that if a developer comes up with a new game mode they can have corresponding voice lines out within Hours rather than months

Which which doesn't really make much sense to me

I'm torn on the whole thing, because i understand the mess that is AI in general these days, and most times that "AI voice lines" come up, it's heavily expected that it's a "this was made on stolen recordings and other bs".

But the fact it has been said multiple times that the voice actors were 100% informed, and SPECIFICALLY helped train the voices with their own, willingly..........well it somewhat changes the narrative, especially if they get royalties, or at the least got a DECENT sized payout for the immensity of the up front "Give" on their (the voice actors) part.

I'm conflicted because i have been saying for a while that the go-to purpose for AI at the level of responsibility we as a species are capable right now of, should be "an extra tool, not a complete replacement of a humans capabilities".

But you see the issue. It is....being used as a tool to facilitate faster turnaround so as not to need to bring back in people who have lives and jobs and such.....buuut in so far as that goes, it's technically replacing them after the initial work that created the tool.

There not really a good solid line to fall on here, unless you go distinctly hardline and completely decry AI use of any kind COMPLETELY...................

and i tend to be distasteful of hard "black and white" distinctions like that....and those that know what my character looks like are free to point and laugh now. *shrugs*
