it's so weird to me that links are just a big text file that specify all the properties of the link
instead of being this special type of file that only the OS understands...
or maybe windows shortcuts are just a long text file
i dunno
specificly they're a long text document that tells another program how to open another program
and by telling another program how to open another program i mean telling another program to run a shell command to open another program in a specific directory
