yknow i thought about it while in the shower
bit strange that people are that adamant on keeping a piece of design that is literally only there ("lore wise") out of spite of a flaw in a species, instead of figuring out a technological way around it
the only thing i can think of is that they're not aware that boxes are meant to be replaced with a much friendlier mechanic both in world and towards players
the take your pizza and eat it in the glass box over there away from everyone bit really doesn't seem great in hindsight
also doesn't help that, while granted i play a bunch of lrp, and rarely if ever even see vox, i have never ever acutally seen a vox acutally go to and use a box, i swear I've spent more time in them as a slime than I've seen vox in them
