finally getting stupid sick of ai trend
yeah yeah yeah shit can be useful but lets be honest its not being used in any respectful way
the goals of the people who put it are clear, replace people not to free up workers so they can better use their skills elsewhere, but to get even cheaper labor in industries where the artist already is getting screwed over on a regular basis, despite it being the basis of creativity and something valued for centuries
i also want it to like, not be called ai...
like its not, yeah okay scheatics bullshit but like, seriously how ca people look at stable diffusion or chatgpt and go "yeah, that computer is thinking for itself". i guess maybe its just pretty well hidden but guess what, the current ai stuff that exists for text and images can't even think for itself! when you ask gpt something like "whats 2+5?", it doesn't parse the string, realise its a math problem, then figure out the answer and say it, it tries to figure out what the next paragraph should be and returns that. just fucking annoying

@callmore i can definitely see why people would think the computer is doing thinking. that's probably one of the reasons they get attached to the concept.
i think everyone should know the general idea behind how those things work, which might make them think twice. but not everyone bothers to, and it's probably in companies' interest for that to be the case.
